MAY 2020

We have now closed the doors to our shop due to government regulations.   This is the right thing to do as we were very busy and social distancing was becoming very difficult to adhere to.

However we have realised that we are allowed to deliver to customers houses so we asking that any requests are made to us by email to - we can then reply and give prices and stock availability.  Customers can then pay over the telephone and arrange contact whatsoever.

We have been inundated with emails and we are answering as we receive them. We are running short of certain items. Multi Purpose Compost is popular. Unfortunately deleries into us are classed as non essential so we have lost vegetable seedling deliveries but are still hopeful that next week we will get some. As we are all aware things change fast these days and we are mindful that we may have to stop these deliveries- that will depend on daily updates from the government

Following on from the statement  made by the prime minister Boris Johnson this evening, we will be closing our garden centre.

We didn't know that when we closed the gates of our shop at 5 pm today we wouldn't know the next time we would be open again.

However we accept this decision and agree with it if we are to rid our country of this virus.

We will keep this site and also our facebook and twitter accounts updated to any changes.

We would like to send our best wishes to you all to stay safe and be careful and we look forward to serving you in the not too distant future.

Filming - November 2012

We were filmed by BBC1 for a programme about the weather and how it has affected business in 2012. Someone realised that garden centres would have been badly hit by first a drought (!) and then non stop rain for 3 months in Spring when it is traditionally the busiest time for us.
The good news is that 2 years are never the same so we have high expectations of a very nice Spring and Summer 2013.
It was shown on TV on Sunday 30th December 2012 at 5.30 pm on BBC1.
We are building a database of customers so we can email out special offers and gardening tips and we will also be updating our website If you would like to be included in this, please email us your details, (name and address ). We have a prize draw for all emails received and the lucky winner can win £25 voucher to spend in store.
March 2013
We are happy to announce we will be sponsoring the 'The Edible High Road'- part of the Chelsea Fringe. More details to come.
'Totally Locally' has been launched by Forest Hill's traders and aims to change people's shopping habits by getting them to commit to spending at least £5 per week in their local independents. There's no need to avoid the supermarket, but £5 spent in a local shop helps support local businesses, jobs and families. Find out more on their website

We were very happy to receive The Mayor of Lewisham's Business Award for Customer Service in October 2012. Thank you to all our great customers!
